Omocat is the creative mind behind the psychological horror RPG Omori. She has not shown her face but speaks through this icon. The game Omori had a rough seven-year development but in the end, it told a beautiful story that was well worth the wait.

Omori was inspired by many pieces of art and entertainment with Nintendo games being the forefront of influences. She doesn't give out a lot of examples, but two significant parts of the game has very clear ties to Earthbound and Yume Nikki.

During the development of the game, she stopped consuming media in order to keep her original vision. Throughout Omori's development she had even started to fund the game through her own pocket despite the Kickstarter campaign. It was very clear that this game was made out of a passion and drive like no other.

As for game mechanics Omori has a unique combat system with charming animation and a hand drawn style. There is a hope that more game developers will pick up these inventive mechanisms.

While there are female game creators Omocat is a prevalent example of one that achieved great success through hard work and an unstoppable drive.
